Who writes this

FoundNow is a rental marketplace in Udaipur. This is where the people building it write down what they learn — how a rent agreement is actually drawn up here, what a deposit is really used for, what a broker does and does not do, and what changes in the product and why.

Two kinds of thing get published. Long pieces are written in the open, reviewed like code and kept alongside it, so a piece describing how something works and the thing itself change together. Shorter notes are written by whoever has something to say that week.

Two languages, not one translated

Some pieces are written in English and some in Hindi, by people writing in the language they think in. A piece exists in the other language only when somebody has written it there — not when a machine has converted it. That is why a piece you are reading sometimes has no counterpart, and why the switch says so plainly rather than sending you back to the front page.
